Ummm...hmmm....couple thousand, but that is over a period of time. So i'd have to say around 350, with a significant persentage of it being in rebate checks.

Yeah that was probably one of THE HOTTEST deals I ever got in on, it even made it to the media. Picked up a brand new Brother HL-1240 laser printer from Office Depot for $300 then received a free $100 gift card to buy whatever I wanted. Cancelled my MSN account the next day and that was it.

when etoys put their barbie digital cameras on clearance for 7 bucks, I bought about 60 and sold them for an average of about 35 bucks profit each.

also, i remember some no-name site selling infity BU-120 subs for 140 shipped, I bought a few and sold em for about 300+shipping on ebay. Also, amazon had a TIVO sale (14 hour units for like 99 bucks), I bought a dozen and sold them for about 250-300 each, I think.

hot deals were my main source of income my first two years of college.

The biggest single take on these forums was probably the guy that got the projectors from Dell.

My largest deal was probably in the 3-4 hundred range.....and this is based on perhaps 40 trips with a 10 of 10 coupon in staples.
Single take was s100 camera...300 off.
Largest potential deal...several computer systems..(hence the name freebee)..but deal was dead before I was able to complete my transaction.

<< I earned a little over $1,000 buy getting a few free Microsoft software titles. Damn that was hot.

Another great deal was the FREE $150 Amazon.com GC just for switching to MCI long distance, didn't cost me a penny.
>>

That was a sweet deal, they screwed up my switch so bad and annoyed me so throughly that I ended up getting an extra gc out of the deal :D

A while back I happened on v5500 for $200 AU shipped. (This was when they were retailing at the $900 -$1000 AU mark) Picked up 3 of them. Kept one, sold two for $600. Free hardware :D
And to give you an idea here in aus a GF3 when it first came out was around $1200 AU. Sometimes more. Rarely less.

Um, if you're spending money you aren't "earning" anything; you are merely spending less.

ANyway I have to start visiting hot deals more. That MSN thing below sounds kick ass. Personally one of the first things I've gotten from a hot deals recommendation was the Slim500 speakers today. $30 + shipping vs. $70-80 retail across all of the stores I found. I can't wait!

Of course NONE Of the free things I've ever tried to get through hot deals have ever come. Not a single one.

I guess the best single item I've ordered was an $1100 msrp digital camera for $250. I sold it on eBay for about $700.
