How much longer will PC2100 be the DDR "standard?"

I purchased 512mb of Crucial PC2100. Now I've decided that going DDR will wait until next year...prolly Jan or Feb. At that time, will PC2100 be the "PC100" of today? I hope i'm being clear enough....I'm tired and hungry...kinda woozy......anyway, what do you think?

PC2700 should be around in 1H02, but addoption wont be instant. Infact the SiS 735 supports PC2700 and PC166 already, also the crush 17/18 (nForce) will support it when they are released early next year. For $40, I wouldnt worry toomuch about it becoming outdated.

I wouldn't worry, even though nForce and SiS 735/645 will support PC2700 only 645 and nForce will use the bandy. PC2100 won't be the "fastest" for long, but still will be fine for most.

Heck PC133 is still very popular. dont know it looks like 2100 wont be the standard for long. AMD is moving to 333mhz bus probaly soon. DDR might not even be the ram mainstay for Intel P4 either.

Hey a rambus + Athlon chipset! haha! I dont know if the athlon could benfit or not. They need to make RDRAM a lot wider. 16bit bus is no good.
