How much is your phone bill?

I'm sure there's a thread out there on this and maybe this is in the wrong section, but looking at my phone bill again this month I once again get angry and vow to look into it.

Well this month I am.

I'm shelling out 170$ a months for 2 phones through verizon. Both phones have 2GB data plans and our shared minutes are at 700 minutes, unlimited text.

Is this outrageous? Have a daughter that I need to get a phone for in a few years, so wondering if theres something better out there or that is just the norm.

Gawd damn that's a lot of money, it's a freaking car payment.

Side note: Hooked up to wifi I notice that my data isn't eaten up. Is the same true for minutes?

$24.42 after fees and taxes for a Verizon cell account that I hardly use. Way too much.

I need to look into something cheaper, plus some type of VoIP for at home. Researching that is going to be a project for the next week or two.

210$ for 3 smart phones and one regular phone, Verizon. Two smart phones have unlimited grandfathered data plans, the other is two gigs. I want to switch to another carrier that has unlimited but I live in the country, so im stuck with verizon.

$40/monthly, and like t9d, i also use google voice as an alternative. also has helped me keep the same number throughout the years.

Verizon Wireless now has what they call the "More Everything Plans" .. this is in response to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobiles plans and prices. Call them and see what they have that is for your type of phone and usage. You will likely save quite a bit.

$170 seems a touch high, but mine just for 1 phone is $90 and I have about the same features on my plan as you do. I'm sure you can do better if you switch carriers, etc.

$220 for 3 phones with 4GB limits on each, unlimited text, 1400 minutes voice on Verizon. Based on the GB limit, you are overpaying. But, I also think I'm overpaying. 🙂

For 2 gigs of data per line might save about $10-20/month + get unlimited talk instead of 700 minutes. Better than what he is getting now at least.

$200 for 4 lines, unlimited talk and text, 10GB shared data with 1 month of roll-over data (any unused data from last month goes towards your next month, but does not get rolled over twice so you cant accrue 100GB+ or anything)

this is from AT&T

comes out to $50 per line, not great but not bad at all.

Normally $100 for 2 phones from Straight Talk (at&t network). Unlimited voice, sms and 3GB 3G/LTE data. Came across a $20 off coupon some weeks ago, so have both phones at $60 a month for the next 5 months.
And I have gone over 3GB of data before and still had LTE.

Yea if you have verzion look at Pageplus. It uses verzions towers.

The $55 plan is as good or better than you have now...
Unlimited* Talk/Text/Data
3 GB of Data at 4G LTE Speeds
200 International Calling Minutes

Since each phone gets its own plan you can pick a plan that's cheaper but fits that user. https://www.pagepluscellular.com/plans/

I think straight talk uses ATT towers.

0, I get mine from work (5GB, unlimited text/voice)

You use your work phone for personal stuff? I have a work phone too, but I never use it for anything but work stuff. Don't even go on to the internet unless it is explicitly for work.
