They will probably explain to you that getting the rotors very hot and then driving through water might warp them...

Woops, didn't read his water scenario.

Ack. I just read it as hard braking. Forgive me. No coffee yet this morning.

edit: (though many will tell you that rotors don't warp, but instead get brake pad material deposits from holding the brakes tight to the rotors when they are hot and immobile, but I don't know enough to say who is correct)
