Tonight I have had 16 beers and still want more (Alaskan Amber :)).
My... um... 'partner' is laying on bed behind me sleeping saying ever since my truck wreck, I have been drinking too much.

Normally I drink every two weeks. Sometimes every weekend, but only on weekends I feel goofy. Which happens a couple weeks out of every two months.

Ever since a truck wreck that I was in about 6 days ago though, I have been drinking every day. Wake up, drink, get drunk, pass out, wake back up and drink again...
BTW, I was sober as was everyone else in that wreck.

Am I wrong for celebrating that? Or am I taking about it wrong?
I don't bring it up as the active conversation or even start it. When asked why I am drinking so much I simply say I am happy and celebrating.
Is there anything wrong with that?

Drinking heavilly every day isn't a good thing. Try to get back to your old schedule - a few beers on the weekend is harmless.

If you are "celebrating", ask yourself this: "When does the celebration end?"

Hangovers are stopped one of two ways.

1. Drink a lot of water before passing out.
or
2. Drink when you wake up.

Unless someone else cares to add a 3rd that does not say don't drink...

Why do you drink that much in the first place? It's the same as other drugs basically, can't you do without it anymore, or do you tell yourself that you feel so much better when drunk?

Do you only like alcoholic drinks and do they taste so good that making your partner unhappy is worth it?

I was given one week off.
Normally I work at least 6 days/week (no overtime since we are owners :().

But I am not certain if I want to go back to work (not saying I want to continue drinking, just not work).
But she says I'll turn out the the guy on Forest Gump (Legs blown off)...
I think that is a little far fetched... But I have not drinken this much since I was 21.

Read that sentence. I think you have a problem.

Also why don't you want to return to work?

I still think the woman is trying to get a upper hand on me though
She started saying that the day after the accident and has not relented.

I am using alcohol as a... 'depresant' is it called? But I am not (short of this conversation) using it in my normal everyday life. Did any of you all celebrate graduating HS?

I think he may mean he's celebrating the fact that he's drinking heavily.

Yup, sure did.

But I SURE AS HELL didn't celebrate when someone rear-ended my Sentra in the school parking lot.

Once again, you're a moron...I'm bashing it into your head that it's not cool, and you need some help. People don't think you're cool for drinking 16 beers BY YOURSELF. You just look like a lonely prick for bragging about it.

You're obviously crying out for help if you're posting about it here.

No, I am celebrating that I lived.

I still get the same money either way :p. Also I'll go back to work.

Yes that is too much.

Those were the type of answers I was looking for. I am more a numbers type of guy than a person who likes being lectured.

And no, I did not drink 16 beers by myself. The party has ended... but I still kinda want more. I just have not picked any up. I was just curious if she has a point or if she is trying to be...

Controlative is it?...
For sure she is a jealous type :disgust:. But I'm not gunna get into that at the moment.

You're lying to us and to yourself. I've never known an alcoholic, but you seem to be exhibiting all the signs of someone who's got a problem - no clarity in answers about the problem, defending your actions, hurting those around you emotionally, and generally, being a jerk when it comes to discussing the substance at hand.

Oh, you're a numbers guy? Okay, here you go: you're 150% moron and drinking 800% more than you should be drinking.

That sounds like the wrong way to celebrate to me. So many have died at the hands of drinking, it's kind of a slap in the face to do it that way.

Go out and buy something you've wanted, or simply bask in the sunshine of another day. Drinking yourself into a stupor is no way to celebrate your life.

Who said I was drinking by myself? I never did... did I???
Oh, you're a numbers guy? Okay, here you go: you're 150% moron and drinking 800% more than you should be drinking.

Well being I did say that, I will not get mad at it. To do so will not be... orderly.

Azraele, under general terms I agree with what you are saying. But not all.
Would you not be happy that you lived? I am.
I had my wife leave me, my children taken from me, most of everything I own taken from me.

But yet I come back to be a business owner supporting her and my kids with a few extra dollars to play with. Barely have enough to pay rent and other things...
So finally a life threating thing happened to me, my friends lived, the dog lived, and I lived. So I am celebrating taking a week off which is almost over.
So in retrospect because of what I think is BS that I go through because of my partner. I ask if I am drinking too much?

Yes or no?

Sorry if I am coming off in a bad mood about this. I posted this in the general thoughts if she was trying to control me. I did not think of all the other things sober minds would come up with. All I wanted was time the way I felt was most appropriate...

never mind. lets the mods lock this. thats what they generally do best.

You sound like an alcoholic in denial.. of course, you'll probably disagree with this.. because you're in denial.

Nobody healthy wakes up, drinks, passes out, and drinks some more and leads a healthy lifestyle.

Yes, you are drinking way too much. Partying is fine, and even going crazy for a few days, but you need to get back in control.
