- Intel P4-640 3.2G CPU, 64bit capable.

- 512M DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz (2X256M running at dual channel)

- NVIDIA 6800 256M (PCI E 16x? )

- Hard drive 80G SATA Western Digital WD800JD

- 16XDVD Drive

build your own, even thought it may be slightly more expensive. however, you will have an amd/pcie based computer, which will be more future proof.

no monitor too? very definitely not worth it, for $750 you can get much, much more for your money.

is this something you're considering purchasing or just a question regarding value?

I told the guy 550. I agree 750 is way too much. But i was willing to go 600$

I cant build a rig that nice for 600$ can i ?

you can build a better rig for $600. is this going to be a gaming rig? the video card he/she is including is not very fast. a current $200 video card will easily beat the 6800.

yeah gamming and websurfing mostly.

Ok so

1)200$ for video card
2)100$ for mobo
3)200-250$ for CPU
4)100$ for gig of ram
5)60$ for case

I sill need a DVDRW and PS ect..

it's only $165 for an amd 64 3200+ and $76 for corsair value 1gb. the money saved will be enough for a decent PSU and DVD-RW.

Um buddy. The 6800 is a nice card. And a current 200 dollar video card IS the 6800.... You must be confused.

my quick estimate is around $550-600, MAX.. no more..

the CPU still commands a little chunk of change, and they still hold a little resale value.. that video card is no chump.. its not top of the line, but it is still capable....

You guys are nuts. I'd pay 750 for it, and upgrade it a bit. NO WAY you could build it for less. Unless you maybe use a pirated copy of windows. The case is VERY nice, and the PSU is very high-quality stuff.

pay you $400 for it.

256MB 6800 is most likely the 6800 Ultra. Anyone who says $300 is a moron. That video card alone is worth $200 now. Throw in Windows XP, a 630, and thats easily another $200.

6800 comfirmed to be plain jane if it's dell OEM part. probably a refurb that someone got it for under $500.

Someone can. Comes with 1-year warranty.

Good luck trying to get one of those without a script. And that is an XPS 400, quite different than an XPS Gen4.

The XPS 400 is basically what I have, a Dell 9100. And what you linked to is about what I paid for mine, except it had 1GB of ram and dual dvd drives. It was 400 shipped. I added another GB of ram and a 7800 GTX. It's a hell of a nice gaming rig for less than a grand.
