Yeah...I've always wondered about this...is it just a matter of copyrights or trademarks or something?

no replica had authority to make the jersey. They just don't use the same materials that they use on the authentic jerseys. Authentic in this case means what the players wear, not legal or illegal.

Authentic: they call it a sweater because the material is certainly more durable than a replica, and it also comes with the fight strap in the lower back.

The real difference is the money. 😉 It's close to $300 vs. $75.

yea the price difference was huge. I just wanted to make sure it felt like a real jersey, the replica. And I don't need a fight strap considering I'll just wear it for practice and to ranger games.

Now do I get Leetch or York.

If you're gonna wear it to play in any situation, DO NOT get authentic!

Whatever you do, don't get Ulanov. That bastard has given Jagr chronic knee problems all year long. I blame him for the Caps demise!!!!!!! 😉

Why don't you get Dvorak? He's really underrated.

On Rangers jersey's you can also get Double Stitches on the name too ... My friend got an Adam Graves Authentic Jersey from an affiliate store in new jersey (The name of the store eludes me right now).

If I were you I'd get a kid, because they would probably be around the league longer ... but the Rangers always tend to trade their youth players (like Johnsson, and Hlavac)... Might be safe with Blackburn though, they need someone to replace Richter since he's starting to get old! (I still think they should have kept Cloutier)

You're nuts if you're going to wear a $400 jersey to hockey practice though ... Thats just my opinion though.

CCM replica jerseys feel the most realistic. Nike made very good ones. I haven't bought a jersey for awhile, but like it was said, if this is for hockey practice, do not buy an authentic.

Honestly, there IS a difference, both in weight and how it feels. Also the authentic has the fight strap like someone said. Just buy a replica though, CCM makes good ones. What happens when you buy an authentic, and end up getting mustard or beer on it at a Rangers game? You're SOL. Ruined jersey. Better to ruin $75 than $300.

You got that right...
