It seems like recently this is becoming more of an OT forum and more like a AT (alcohol topic) forum. But all the talk about alcohol has had me remember a question that I had.
how many ounces of liqor are in a shot, I've heard 1 oz. and i've heard 1.5 oz.
<< According to the Shot Glass Club of America......Shot glasses are limited to a maximum of two ounces in volume and strictly less than three inches in height. Minimum capacity is one ounce and the shortest height is 1-3/4 inches. >>
take it from a former bartender...it depends..it can be anywhere from 1 to 3 ounces. though commonly a shot is from 1 to 1.5 ounces, where i worked we used to use 1 ounce measures
1.5 oz is what i pour usually at my bar, although most of the time i just count it. with a pour top on a bottle, a shot is a 2 count, i.e. one one thousand, two one thousand - viola, shot🙂
