I remember the days of $1.25. Now I'm paying $2.90 per regular slice (not as part of a pie). Am I wrong that this is crazy high even with inflation? NY (LI).

$2.90 a slice is still excellent price. I pay $2 for slice at Costco. That's the only place I buy pizza.

My fav place doesn't list prices by the slice (they might just do pizza's, not slices), but a medium is 11:50.

Love me some cup & char.

I remember when 241 had a $2 deal on 2 slices and a pop. Been a long time since I got that deal, but last I checked quite a few years ago it's not a deal anymore, it was like over $5. May as well pay $20 or whatever and get a full pizza.

There was something about getting the slices though, they sit all day under the heat lamps and they taste so good, basically slow cooking all day.

^ $5 CAD is $3.77 US which is dirt cheap for 2 slices and a drink. Ours is something like $7 and they advertise that as a "lunch special". Oy vey. Maybe 10 years ago it was half that and THAT was a deal.

How much was it back then? A nickle?

I think it was like 2 shekels but went up a little after that time they were not allowed to sell goods in the temple anymore. Jesus got pretty mad at that and they had to sell from the market which has more overhead costs to operate.

I think a slice at our local pizzeria here is $2-$2.50. For $5 you get a drink and a bag of chips or a cookie IIRC. 1 slice usually doesn't fill me up. It's not a costco slice for sure.

Also in NY where they have "Real Pizza".
Don't eat much Pizza anymore but do have it occasionally
Range is $14-$19 for a pie in my neck of the woods. I can't remember for the life of me what average prices were for a slice in the immediate area. Last time I picked up slices for the kids was at some random place where it was 2.50 per (or maybe 2.25...can't remember)
In NYC you can still find old school pricing on slices. Last time I was in Queens\Harlem I vaguely recall $1.somethin slices from small shops.

Then there is always this. If I recall correctly, as "meh" as this pizza was it was a bajillion times better than any Pizzshit hut\Papa whatevers\Box Store\mid west pretend pizza place\. However I may have been starving or drunk at the time a couple of years since I was in midtown
