How much is a house on the beach in LA / OC?

I found an AWESOME fixer upper in Malibu. Check it out, an almost 8,000sf lot (!!) for only $3.5m.

I say "only," because right next door, look how much a fixed up house costs with a 30% smaller (!) lot:

You can buy for $3.5, invest $1 for reno and sell for $8-9. Holy fuck. If you don't believe that the $3.5 house will cost $8-9 when fixed up, consider the example above ($7 for a 5000sf lot), and this one as well.

$6.2 for a 3,500sf lot and a pretty crappy house:

Fuck, whoever buys that $3.5 property is gonna cash in large if they know how.

hmmm that first house is built in the 20's, it would take much more than a million to equal that new construction next door.

You can get twice the house, twice the land, a quarter of the property taxes, more freedom, no Californians, and some of the best beaches for that kind of money. 🙄

best beaches...lollerskates. Maybe to sit and crank your bait on.

Alabama is cheap because there is no one intelligent that would live there.

PWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA there's a reason why it's cheaper to live where you live, cus no one wants to live there.

Best beaches? you mean the gulf of Mexico? LOL Alabama + beach = teh funnies. There's a good reason you can get twice the house, twice the land and be on the beach in Alabama for cheaper than Cali. It's Alabama.
You couldn't pay me $1,000,000 a year to live there. I would agree with you about some Californians, but uhhh Alabamians are worse, so your other point is shot to shit.

fail.

AL and NW FL beaches > *

ROFL! But you're STILL in Alabama...

BTW, if a married couple in Alabama gets a dee-vorce, are they still brother and sister?

*zing*

Alabama's coastline is TINY. I don't know why anyone would compare any coastlines to Cali's when everyone knows Cali has some of the best beaches in the world which is why so many surfers are here.

yeah when they talk of the beaches the richest and hottest people in the land go, it's always Aleebama and Nort Floridee.

That's why it's the best. Why would I want to go with where the richest and most surgically enhanced people go?

It's less to do with the beach than the environment around it. I can relax at the beach with a cold one without a bunch of brahs with tapout shirts and bleached hair everywhere.

Which is only in Orange County California but hey can't deny them being there. There's much more than that.

Yea when you can go to the beaches with white trash hicks and people that sleep with their sister.

Oh no the hicks! Just because someone is less educated and doesn't live life for materialistic things doesn't mean they're bad people.

And incest is illegal here. 😉

Plus, apparently, the Gulf is just Florida's toilet...and I'm sure, most of the other Gulf states also have their sewer outfalls into the gulf as well...either directly, or indirectly via one river or another.

Put in Balboa.

My parents live in a track home built in the 60s ~8 blocks from Newport beach and it's over 1 M. It's why I got GTFO. Made like 40K w/ young family and spent 2/3 on an apatment LOL.

Bah!

I much prefer Sunset Beach where the homes are on the beach - no cliff - no hill - were talking on the beach! Its just north of Huntington Beach in OC.

Great search tool: http://www.previewochomes.com/idx/map/

Go Big or go home $4,750,000

I'm pretty sure you just linked Jessie Jame's house. I know because I used to live right down the street 😀

Sunset beach is definitely a gem. Absolutely beautiful view of the long beach harbor. Nothing beat walking out there in the middle of the night with a joint in hand and just taking it all in. Damn I miss that place.
