How much is a Business License? the trouble?

Some friends and myself are thinking about it. how much trouble and $$ to get a business license?

Contact your local Chamber of Commerce, they should have a packed of all the state and federal forms or if not lead you into the right direction to get them.

Do you mean a DBA? DBA=Doing Business As.

Do you mean tax ID? You only need a Federal tax ID if you are going to have PAID employees other than yourselves.

no employee's, so no tax stuff. what is DBA? well, an example?

That would depend on what state you live in. But i would guess about $100-$200, if someone has an acutal amount correct me.

I paid ten bucks for a DBA in Oakland County, Michigan. I forget how much a Sales Tax ID costs which is different from Federal Tax ID. (If I have my lingo screwed-up, it's been a couple of years)

You need a Sales Tax number for State sales tax and a DBA to start a business in MI. That's it.

Yep! I had a vitamin business until I got divorced and the minimum was $500 with an additional 10% off for each $100 over that.
