I just checked my usage...
Since i got my account in 11/2003, i have borrowed 98 titles, for an average of 10 days per title.

So far, in March i have borrowed 10 dvds for an average of 6 days per title.

Nothing. I buy my DVDs. What I don't want to keep, I sell.

How/Where do you sell 'em?

I switched to Netflix because it's cheaper. I had a bunch of DVDs i bought, didn't want, and only watched once... and when i went to sell 'em, i was getting cents on the dollar. a $25 DVD i was getting back maybe $3-5 .... not good.

With netflix, i watch the DVD, and if i decide it's a movie i want to keep and watch over & over & over... then i buy it.

So far i have only encoutered about 4 dvds out of the ~100 that i really want to keep.

yup thats what i do. and well somethings are too expensive to buy atleast for me. tv box sets? hah, u could really unload hundreds of bux on those if u didn't rent.

dvdtalk.com forums has some trading forums, perhaps sale too. course how fast or effective it is.. i dunno.

I don't get the math (10 days per title?). Then again, I don't have Netflix.

I was just curious what your per rental cost comes out to.

The 10-days per title is from day of shipping, to day of return. So on average, it ships... i have it... i return it... they get it back.... 10 day round trip.

In the month of January i rented 32 titles. I'm on the 8-rental plan so it's $39.95 per month. Averages to just about a dollar a title.

Usually at a yard sale the GF and her mom hold twice a year. We get between 5-8 bucks a peice

Any extra cost is validated by the fact that I never get an unplayable DVD

Had it happen three times in about 110 rentals, but as soon as I marked them they sent it out

216 movies since 01/06/03 but I think they are missing some movies. Could even be 300.

haven't had Netflix in a while, but when I did for 2months, I kept a dvd for 1 day, then sent it back.
