$500 for the projector,
$90 for the screen
$160 for the HDTV tuner (Viewsonic HD12)
~$300 for the HTPC (not counting parts that have been obsoleted into the machine)
$60 in my antenna experiments
$30 for the Hubbell spiltters that made the HTPC ethernet drop possible without having to put gear in my unfinished (and still a little too damp) basement.

~$1200 total

pic (blurry because I suck at the camera, not because of the screen)

I'm also temporarily using my Z680's which I won't include in the cost and a SIIG pro-dvr that I'm not using in any sort of *production* capacity anymore.

LOL you think that's crazy... Then check out the recommended $25,000 system!

As I've said to a couple people before, my projector has no business being in a $25,000 system :p

$230 for a used 22'' diamondtron, purchased about 3 years ago still going strong
$0 for a halfway decent 19'' picked up at the local dumpster
~$1700 (rough guesstimate, being moderate) in headphone amp/cable/soundcard/mods + 3 headphones
$200 for midiland s2-4100, but this like 8 years ago
$55 for a radeon 9800/8500LE (now that was CHEAP, considering it was about a year and a half ago)

At which point, I'll ask ATOT if they prefer JMLab-Focal Utopia Be Micros, Dynaudio C1's or something along those lines.

I don't think ATOT is the place to ask ;)

About $1700 for my TV (like 5 years back, 61inch Toshiba RPTV, Model: 61A61)
About $200 for the stereo cabinet (Holds all the components nicely as well as a UPS for the stereo Reciever. Has plenty of room for the full sized ATX HTPC, Tinted door)
About $500 for the reciever (Yamaha Reciever, I was stupid and bought it right when it came out several years ago, probably costs about $300 to get something similar today)
About $750 for the speakers (bic america rtr1530 for left and right channel, KBL EC35 for center, some kinda crappy 3 way Sony speakers in the rear, crappy subwoofer that really I don't need because the RTR1530's produce plenty of bass)
About $150 for the DVD player (like 6 years ago ... it's a Sanyo, probably would cost about $75 to get a similar one today)
About $200 in new parts and around $400 worth of parts left over from previous PC upgrades on the MythTV box (Athlon XP 2500 mobile, Shuttle Nforce2 mobo, PVR150, Antec Overture 2, 512mb DDR, 200GB drive) ... The mythTV box is currently in my spare bedroom, as I just went through the effort of installing knoppmyth on it and getting it set up, and I did that while it was hooked up to a monitor on a desk for ease of use.)
Figure in all the cables and wiring ... and it's probably pretty close to $4000 total

The Pic I have are kinda old (Still has a really crappy center channel in it, and DVD shelves that I put up on the wall aren't there yet ... but here goes ... )
Pic from 2 years ago

well at least I'd get some interesting responses...even HTF and AVS are tough to find good answers on speakers like those. have to go to the smaller forums.

And go figure, ATOT would understand $5-6K on a pair of speakers, but they don't get $200 jeans. :p

too much. But boy it is worth it on the 2-channel system.

Doing the budget for a redo of the home theater. Should be fun now that we have 65" plasmas out.

I?ve had some of it for a while, but to the best of my recollection:
Speakers: $1200
Receiver: $850 (I plan to upgrade the speakers sometime...)
HDTV: $1500
Computer: $1500 (approx)

Things I don?t use anymore:
VCR, DVD Player, Cassette Deck, a couple of consoles. Also the wiring and connectors add up quickly.
