It's human nature for us to seek a group to identify with. Recently after much thought I realize that it is this drive that creates much of the evil of the world. I look at myself and I ask myself... what would it take for me to give up who I am. To become another religion, to change my nationality, to change my name...

How many people am I willing to let die... before I changed.... how many people would I kill? How much money would it take... alot!

Really really think about it... and name your price.... seriously now... the enormity of it will shock you!

It is better to have ideas than a belief, you can change an idea. But changing a belief is hard, people die for it.

Well, my belief is kinda who I am, and no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to part w/ it. It aquires subtle additions to it's foundation, but there is an "ethical cord" that runs unchanged through my entire experience in life.

So to answer your question, I guess the price would have to be extremely high, because to lose my belief and ethics would be losing myself entirely...scary thought...my survival insticts automatically kick-in and defend themselves...if that makes sense.

I play outside these boundries every once and awhile but always revert to my core beliefs, all my views are filtered through my belief system. Of course, while stepping outside the box you always risk losing your objectivity, becoming part of the experiment instead of observing it. I also firmly believe in "what you touch w/ your hands ...you take to your heart" if you get my meaning. So it's "dangerous" in some ways to experiment too deeply for extended periods of time in unhealthy environments....the dirt just may stick.

Hans,

Exactly what I was looking for... I feel the same way.... and when I really think about it... maybe some things really are worth dying or killing for.... enourmous idea to me... feeling myself willing to kill and die... whew... headrush:) The edge of moral reasoning!

Until you face death and you pee your pants and cry. ;)

Freedom encompasses all that you mentioned, and my right to exercise what beliefs I want.

That freedom is priceless, worth everything I have and everything I will ever earn.

Got a buck?

I'll settle for postage stamps.

Leave the payment in the knotty tree 3 yards back from the secret clubhouse.
