I know someone who has a blank canvas that's stretched, on a frame, it's 6 feet by 5 feet, and gheesso'ed, (gesso, or ghesso?). He's asking $250 for it. Is that overpriced?
I might need this for my friend to paint on (see graffiti thread).
UPDATE: I offered the guy $150 for the canvas, and here is his response:
This is top of the line canvas - before preparation, raw, cost me over $250. i applied three coats of professional acrylic gesso. Over $50 in wood and two-day labor to build the frame. Worth easily in excess of $650. It's an amazing deal at the $250 i offered you, and I'll stand by it if you wish. Otherwise, I'll just have to make another great painting on it.
Is this BS?
