Costco has $5 off Omega3 fish oil 180 count.

How much is too much? or is it like vitamin C where the body just pees out what it doesnt use?

edit: 1 softgel has

omega3: 434mg
omega6: 276mg
Omega9: 170mg

That doesn't work for fat soluble substances (or in this case fat).

However, I would NOT recommend taking in large doses of a low quality fish oil. It is likely to contain mercury, PCBs, etc. It also will have a poor ratio of omega 3 to omega 6, thus being of little therapeutic benefit.

I take about 6g of omega 3's each day, so that would equate to at least 12 of those pills a day. You might want to find a higher quality oil, i would not be able to take 12 pills a day. Mine is liquid, i pour it out in to a 1 tbsp. measuring spoon, and it tastes like orange so I get no fish breath.

2-3g total EPA/DHA combined. Much more than that can impair immune function. Also, there's no reason to supplement Omega 6. Most people get plenty from their diet and the ratio between the two is too great as a result. Stick with Omega3 fish oils.

What is the breakdown of the omega-3?

Is it provided as ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) or DHA/EPA, or a blend?

Overconsumption of these fatty acids is linked to increased blood clotting time and a reduced inflammatory response.

You should get the 400 count of Omega 3 pills at Costco. They recently had them for $6. Each pill contains 300mg of Omega 3, requiring you to only take 3 a day.
