How much electricity do you use a day, on average?

I just recently looked at my utility bill, and apparently I'm using 7Kwh/day. Is that a lot, not enough? Somebody throw me a freaking bone here...

Here is my usage at a house (combined with 20 other people), during my bitcoin mining days. I started in February, but the graph doesn't go that far back. Guess what month I moved out? 😀

Edit: 7kwh/day? holy crap man.

a lot this month! i could have probably gotten away with not using the AC this month but it was pretty humid.
Month 4/20/11 3/21/12 4/20/12
Avg. Temp 69.1 F 64.8 F 70.2 F
Cost $73 $88 $123
kWh 557 691 965
Days of Service 29 29 30
Avg. Daily kWh 19 24 32

Hmm, guess the built in screenshot option on this rom sux.

7kWh is probably fairly low. That's a good thing, why would it not be enough?

I don't have a current spreadsheet, but in 08, the last year I ran one, we were averaging about 900 Kw/month. (low of about 600, high of about 1400 in the summer) A couple of years before that, we were averaging about 1100 Kw/mo, with one extremely HOT month over 2100 Kw.

You're right, 7 kWh is way too low. You must now buy a hot tub and leave it turned up to 110 all the time with no cover on before the feds get you for your un-American ways.

7kW is very low. That's only about 210kWh/mo.

The lowest I've ever had my bill was about 325kWh. It was 523kWh last month, or 16.34kWh/day since it was a 32 day billing cycle.

60-83 a day.

I've got a 3k square ft 5 bedroom dome house... so when I turn on the heater in the winter or the window-units after it rains in the summer, it's pricey. I also have 2 people per bedroom.

Also: I've got a computer for every bedroom + another for the living room and another for the TV room.

52inch in the TV room that I post/work/watch TV on and then two other HDs a 32 and a 42 in two bedrooms.

I also run a humidifier, all the time, in my room and from march to November the swamp cooler is usually going non-stop.

Also I don't turn off the lights.

So, OP, per-person you seem to be right-on with what I use (if you are, as I would expect, forever alone)

You don't use electricity, you use energy. So, how much electricity do I use? None.

In fact, I teach physics, and don't really know what "electricity" is. Define it.

39kw a day. I'd love to try and throw a kill-o-watt on the well pump that I use to get water in my house. It's got 220v power running to it and is a constant pressure pump. Any time water is being used the pump is running. If my wife and I both take showers then there is close to 25 minutes of continuous running. Flush a pot...running. Brush your teeth...running. Washing dishes...running.

That's got to add up. Just wonder how much.

37/day. 2 adults and two kids. 1500sq/ft house. Everyone has a laptop, HTPC runs 24/7, 55" plasma in the living room, 47" LCD in the bedroom plus the kids TV's and video games. Power bill usually runs ~$120 and I'm more than OK with that compared to what it was at my last place. I think the heatpump is the main reason it's so low.

Wow you guys have such low usage. My bill just dipped below 1000kwh/month for the first time in over 24 months. I wonder why.

My last electricity bill (April) had 194 Kwh or about 6.47 Kwh/day. It will go up because summer is almost here.

I've been using between 600-800 monthly kwh from Last Oct to this March
So around 20-27kwh per day usually.

Worst 2 months over the last 24 months...
1461 August 2011. 41kwh/day
1955 August 2010. 63kwh/day

I live in a 1000 sq foot ranch with full basement. My Central AC unit is VERY old and is due to be replaced in the next year or two future. I suspect this will cut down my summer usage by 20-30%

You see, you could have just commented without your dickery. But since you invited, i'm willing to bet that a page of my passport is probably more exciting than your entire life, and that i'm more successful, and live in a more desirable location (and possibly will outlive you while i'm here), been with more women, etc... And more humble and modest than you. Only a giant penis would come on a forum and be so condescending to a complete stranger.
