How much driving are you s'posed to do on a spare?

They are for emergency use. To get you to the tire store... If you keep driving on it, you are just asking for an accident, or at least another flat which you won't have a spare for...

it can get you pretty far as long as you drive below 35 mph i think. i just remember its a really slow speed.

Yeah, it's more of an emergency tire for minimal use only (and make sure you don't go above 60 mph if you're taking freeways/highways). Replace it asap.

I had a "doughnut" on my car at one time. I will never drive with a doughnut on again if I can help it. I replaced my spare with a full size spare. My truck also has a full size spare, I've seen some that have doughnuts, ugh.

"Ugh" = they're ugly? 😕

Huh. Lame. I hit it on the curb while turning a corner. Is it likely that I did any damage other than to the tire?
If it was enough force to bust the tire open, it might be a good idea to get your car's alignment checked. A good tire shop should be able to do it for you, and it shouldn't be TOO expensive.

It didn't bust the tire, but I assume that's why the tire blew out shortly after (and by shortly I mean 1-2 miles after).

the blow out could be anything, nail, screw, glass, screwdriver, anything on the road. bumping the tire generally doesn't cause blow outs, unless it happens right then or jarred something that was already in the tire. imho

um, enough to get home and then drive to meet your new tire the at the next possible chance??? 😕

Pretty much sums it up.

Put on the spare, go to the tire store. Home or some other critital stop if absolutely necessary.
