How much down-time does your Dixiesys hosted site have?

at the moment, there's no way unless you have Internetseer monitor your website hourly (emailed uptime results weekly). Dixiesys used to have uptime stats here but were unreliable showing 100+% uptime at times.


While were on the subject of Dixiesys, anyone running Movable Type on an Ensim server? i'm having trouble getting it to install (mysql socket connection error). i thought i had it fixed by opening a support ticket and have the socket reset/reestablished (per a thread on the exact same error), yet i still get it. would appreciate any help. thx.

Whoa whoa whoa, Movable Type doesn't work well on Ensim? Thats a big big thing for me.

I am on server 22, but I am still waiting on propagation . Its been ~28 hours, and I keep checking it, like a kid waiting for christmas! Can anyone hit it yet? Link...

Nosaj - Your site doesn't load and I think I may know what the problem is. Open your "ALL SET" e-mail again from Dixiesys.com and double check your NAMESERVERS, they are currently listed as:

Domain servers in listed order:
NS22A.DIXIESYS.COM
NS22B.DIXIESYS.COM

I thought they're usually NS22.DIXIESYS.COM and NS23.DIXIESYS.COM without the A & B? Can someone else here confirm?

I just rechecked my email and it is:

ns22a.dixiesys.com (216.180.251.227)
ns22b.dixiesys.com (216.180.251.232)
(cut and pasted).

My dad received email today and it is the same.

When I use the propagation check utility (Propagator) I have about 10 of the 30 servers that they check seeing my domain. The strange thing is that when I use dixiesys domain check tool to see what server I am on, it reports that my domain is not hosted by them. I can get to my page (using IP) and I can get to my ensim control panel.

It does state that on average it takes 72 hours to propagate.

Ok cool I'm just not used to having A or B in the nameservers. Whenever I have changed nameservers with my domain registrar (NameCheap.com) it's never taken more than 36 hours.

i believe when they started switching over to Ensim, they decided to change the naming scheme to A/B. probably easier to keep track of.

That's a good question, I have 3 hosting accounts with Dixiesys.com PLUS a reseller account with HTTPme.COM and I dunno what I'm going to do with all this space/bandwidth
