I was running 12.5 x 184 at 1.67 V on my overclocked 1700+ @ 2300 mhz. My motherboard died because of the bios a few days ago and now that I got my new one I didn't feel like messing around that much. Now its at 12.5 x 166 and at 1.5 default voltage. Prime has been on for about 24 hrs and no probs so how much does the vcore actually help u get? .17v = ~200 mhz?

Nobody truly knows how much say a %5 increase can give you.. It's all luck of the draw basically..

I would to run @ 2300 mhz stable in P95 you wil need about 1.75v Vdimm @ 2.8v

Where you overclocking @ the time of the BIOS update? I tend to always turn my back to failsafe defualts and run at an underclocked speed.

Good Luck

if memory memory is staying the same, and just overclocking the cpu, can you leave the vdimm alone and up only the vcore?

different chips react different ways to added vcore. ie one chip can do 2100 mhz on default and would need another .25 to get another 100 mhz but other chips can do 1900 mhz on default vcore but need another .15V to get to 2300 mhz

Yes you can, but i have ran into stability issues with a MINOR overclock and memory @ stock speeds..

There is no reason not to run memory at least @ 2.7v

yeah, it really depends on the chip... with the new bartons you see less of a return with increased voltages compared to the older tbirds. more vcore seems to be more of a stablizer where the tbreds are concerned as my barton will post at 2500mhz and all more vcore will do is get prime95 to run without errors, but that's as fast as she'll go no matter what i do.

oh yeah... yhpm!
