On yahoo auto, it said somewhere at low $70,000. Now, I like sedans; I'm kinda caustrophobic in two door cars...

I think I'm going to my local Audi dealership to try to test drive this (if they have it available)

Oh, also, don't know if I'd buy the S8 right now. Next year or two they're bringing over a twin turbo version of the 4.2L V8 :)

Vroom vroom...

If you had choice

the twin turbo version or M5?

(Remember, Dinan has aftermarket parts that has warrenty, if dealership installs it)...

edit: I WOULD buy M5...but if so, I have to commit now and when I am done travelling around world, I will have turn to purchase it.

Well, I donated enough as a student. RedCross, Church, McOwen fund, CCC (campus crusade for christ), anything reputable.

Now, if I combine what I have saved for last 8 years with my sister, we hopefully can purchase a M5. Heck, I might not be working in the US (I have options for Latin America and China).

And what does it have to do with anything with donating money? Just because you may drive something of less value, I don't hate and disrespect you because you don't have more disposable income than others. I inquire about S-8 because I have not seen many, if at all NONE, on the road and I wonder if it is a car to get.

Like many ppl, I like the need-4-speed. I like fast cars.

The question shouldn't be how much, but HOW much in percentage did you donate? If more than 20% a year, then PM and we can debate the specific $ amount to each organization.

how is that any of your business? Last time I checked, charity means "no obligation to give money"

Personally? I'd go S8 over M5 simply because it's

a) a bigger car
b) more of a sleeper
c) cheaper
d) speculation of it coming over here quite detuned

I've heard that the turbos are pushing fairly low boost and that they are just begging to be pushed up a notch. I'm also slightly biased because I'd never own a RWD monster in Iowa. Too much snow, ice, and rain. I'd only be comfortable driving the car 8 months out of the year.

If you're in CA your story may be different.

But yeah vi_edit, after school, I will be living in Southern California.

I was thinking of debadging the M5 to 540 and putting a bodykit (to hide the styling of the M5. (People will think it is 540 wanna be M5.)

but Audi's always intrigue me...especially the A8. Is there any chance the W12 will be coming to US in the near future (like 2 years from now?)

May I ask where around So Cal will you be?

Also, I would get the S8 myself. The M-series is so much more common in So Cal. I just saw an M5 yesterday, driven by some old lady :p

Oh yeah :)
Loved the S8 ever since that movie :)

I like Audi better than BMW....BMW just seem like such a generic "I-have-money" car...
They aren't bad by any means...but the 3 series Sedans are like Honda Civics of the higher income classes...

Audi's are different, a little more personality IMO. Plus it's a bit bigger inside, and no one will suspect it.
When people see the BMW M-badge they expect you to take off the line like a madman..but no one suspects the Audi ;)

:D

I'm just an Audi kinda guy, I'd take an S8 over an M5 regardless of the price difference.

Somehow I doubt your dealer will have one sitting on the lot for you to test drive ;).

And the last S8 I saw was driven by an old lady too! heh
