I had one about that size cut down in my backyard several years ago. It was dead at the top and was poised to fall on the house any day. If memory serves, it cost like $350, but that was just the cost for the guy to come out, drop the tree, and then saw it into "slices." He didn't have to grind or chip it, or hault it off. It took me about two weeks on and off to split the wood for the fireplace. Of course, this was in Nashville, TN. The prices here differ drastically depending on how close the tree is to a house, powerlines, fences, etc. When the risks of the tree hitting something go up, apparently the price does, too. 🙂
