How much does it cost to get dress shirts tailored?

I bought some dress shirts a while back and now i'm looking to get them tailored to fit me better. How much should I expect to pay on average for the alterations? What kind of places offer the most inexpensive alterations?

dress shirts right? decent dress shirts? One's you wouldn't want you're mom's sewing kit to get anywhere near, then yea! But belive me, its worth it

you should check out your local tailors. honestly, i think 50$ a shirt is tooo much -- perhaps 30? I never got my shirt tailored, only jeans, slacks, and skirt...but thats different. those range from 10-15 at the most.

i think it depends on what you plan on getting done.
one of my friends got sleeves shortened for 20 bux
another got the works done (sleeves, back, length, and sides) done for about 60

All depends. If you buy from a higher end store like Hugo Boss or Burberry, they will tailor them for free.

An independent tailor will charge ~10-20 for the sleeves.

Why get a shirt tailored for $50 when you can get it measured and made for you starting @ $75?

even Banana Republic has free tailoring at some of their locations.

there are some shirts you absolutely love, but didn't have the money (or insight) to get tailored before. And, now you do, so you ask around.

qft...

My dry cleaners said 15 per shirt... at the time I had like 10 shirts so it was a no go... now that's looking like a bargain

🙁 150 dollars for fashion =(.

i think it's worth it to have fitted clothes. helps with confidence since you're not worried about how things are hanging loose or hanging out.

let them do ONE shirt to make sure they know what they are doing. Don't want to ruin all of your favorites.

I get my dress shirts for about $25 each when they are on sale. They are nice shirts that are fitted, and not just sized like 'large' or anything..
