around $200

Damn last time I saw on tv, a show where they teach you how to eat UNDER $45 a day. How about a show teaching you how you can eat under $5 a day?!
Rich bastards, I wish I can eat at a fancy restaurant for every meal.

I spend about $300-350 a month including eating out, roughly $50 a week on groceries. That does not include booze though. I don't understand how people can survive spending less than $5 a day on food...

Was that $40 a day on Food TV? That's $40 a day while on vacation which is a lot tougher to do.

i spend about 150-200 i would guess. Do eat out quite a bit which is what accounts for most of that i think. Plus one of my friends has been mooching off of me when we go out, which is really hurting. Damn he better get a job soon.

I am in college and live in a house with one roomate but do most of the food shopping- I like to eat well/healthy so I spend ~400$/month on food assuming I don't eat out all the time. Eating healthy is expensive.

like for lunch today I had brats on the grille. got the brats for 5 dollars for 2 6 packs (4-6 meals thier depending on how hungry I am) and a couple packs of hotdog buns were .99 each.

potatos are cheap usually can get 15pounds for under 5 bucks which you should be able to get 5+ meals out of is various dished, my favorite lately has been dicing up 2 potatoes and frying them. if I need a little more flavor I add a couple eggs into it (which is another food that is dirt cheap)

on fridays my super market has some very big deli pizzas for 4 bucks that is good for 2 big meals or 3 small meals.

a couple 50 cent frozen boreto's topped with cheese and salsa is good

breakfast is really easy and very good I usually ethier do an 3 egg sausage omlet. (eggs are like 1.50 a dozen and ground sausage is 3 2.50 for a half pound. if I'm no hungry for that I just do cinimen toast

salads are usually easy and cheap

I like the cambels chunky line of soups and those can often be had for a dollar a can

chillie dogs are good and easy (2 bucks pack of 8 hotdogs, 4 cans of beanless hormell chillie 89 cents each, pack of hot dog buns 99cents good for 4 meals.)

thier are a ton of other good cheap meals that I can't think of at the moment. but as you can see many of these meals are well under 2 bucks and I average that out with a good homecooked steak dinner once or twice a mounth (depending if I can find good deals on a newyork strip)

then thier is the standard cheap meals:
Mac and cheese
Pasta
Romman (this is getting old though so only have it if I"m really low on dough)
