You do the math.

BTW - This is 25%+ less than I was paying 4+ years ago, due to a restructuring of the local power company.

the ISO has been buying power at rates as much as 40x times than rates charged a year ago.
although resident bill will only go up as much as 37%, but then again we'll get billed somehow via the taxpayer money

<< The only thing they do is blame others! And whine! >>

They learned how to do that from their Myopian Brothers, the RatpubliKlans. Both Parties suck ass and so does anybody that supports either party. You see what they did in California? Well they are doing it to every one of you no matter wehere you live but you are so stupid that you don't see it.

<< Electricity is free here, all you do is stick a big magnet on the meter >>

In Miami a while back people were sticking opened up paper clips and stopping the meter from turning. When they would go to read it, they would just remove it and the people would put it back. The funniest thing about it was for some reason, it was legal to do so. There was some kind of loophole that protected the owner of the house.

<<I thought you guys were paying out the nose for power?>>

Actually the guy who posted about paying $94.19 (pulse8) is living in LA which is covered by the local DWP which owns and operates it's own power generators. Residents of Los Angeles who are covered by DWP will most likely not see any increase in rates.

Fizzlefry who is paying 44 bucks a month is using only 101-120% of baseline. Only those users who are consuming over 130% of baseline (I believe the baseline is formulated based on number of family members) will see an increase in rates.

My business (under a different pricing formulation, GS1 & GS2) has seen an approximately 25-30% increase in what I'm paying for electricity. But at home, my bill has stayed about the same.
