How much does Dawn Soap profit from oil spills?

I notice they have been advertising more about how their product cleans animals covered in oil.

I doubt they make much money off of Dawn prodcuts purchased to save animals, but I bet the influx of advertising and playing on the hearts of people generates some cash.

eh... most people buy the same dish soap everytime because they always have. i dont see many people switching brands due to their good deeds.

I never look at the name on the bottle. I buy by price and price alone. It's dish soap for crying out loud. Lately I've been buying whatever the 99 cent store has on their shelves.

as I recall they donated a large amount to help the effort. May boost brand recognition in the short term, but not significantly I'd guess

you do still fall under the category of "those who wont change their buying habits due to Dawn's Good Publicity"

I'd imagine that the people who make underwater drilling equipment and oil dispersant are making the REAL profits right now... not to mention the seafood distributors that AREN'T located along the gulf coast.

I do dishes without oil slick so their commercial has no effect on me.
