How much does a window increase the noise?

Looking at getting a cooler master, wavemaster.

Also looking to get a pre-modded [window] side panel, but wondering if it will greatly increase the sound..

Also...has anyone gotten the Professional Sound Dampening Installation from frozencpu, is it worth it?

Good point, I was just thinking, if i kept it w/o a window and put foam and all that good shiz in it ^^

Screw it down right and it should be fine... As for the dampening materials, I've installed it myself in systems and it does reduce the noise you hear from a system. Depending on how far you go, is how much it eliminates.

Ah..I'm used to running a loud as.. #### dell thats half dead...sounds kind of like a plane taking off. So I guess I'll see how loud it is to start and go from there...thanks!

I have the coolermaster and I think it's a pretty good case. Just to let ya know, the Praetorian is much cheaper and almost exactly the same as the wavemaster. The only thing is that you don't get the cool, sleek front.

Have you thought about modding the side window your self. When I buy my water cooling setup I figure I'll add a side window. Seems like all you need is some sort of cutting tool like a Dremel. The kit is cheap too...like around $20.

It's likely just me, but I hate the front of the wavemaster. Firstly I hate doors, and secondly having non-straight edges would annoy me too.

Btw, back on topic - windows don't add noise unless they rattle. But they can "add" heat, thereby adding to the need for better cooling, which in turn would likely mean more noise. Probably not enough of an increase in temps to bother with more cooling though, just depends how much a cool PC is important to you (if overclocking phr34k, then window may not be your thing )

its just you... my wavemaster has gotten nothing but complements on its looks.
