I was at TGI Fridays about 2 weeks ago with my friend, we both got the jack daniels steak and shrimp combo and split 2 pitchers of beer and I think it came out to about $25 each

Dang, you guys have some cheap steaks... The places I go to are usually about 30 a plate with drink... What places are you going to and where are you located?

Indiana. Lots of cheap food here.

Represent! Yup, lots of cheap food here.

ummm

Well IMO a steak that tastes better with any sauce......is not a very good steak.

But I like a good sauce sometimes too.

If you're talking about Sizzler, it's usually about $20-$25 for my wife and I.

Although, we had an awesome prime rib dinner at Black Angus the other night that was $30 with a coupon but came up to $40 after drinks. Some of the best prime rib I've ever had, and they gave us so much food (big appetizer plate, loaf of bread, baked potato, and a huge slab of chocolate cake).

Steak dinners can run the gamut from $10 to $50. It really depends on the restaurant and the cut/quality of meat you are getting.

"USDA Prime" beef is extremely expensive, and that's what you'll find in nicer restaurants.

I'm no judge as I live in a heavy ranching area, settled primarily by the Basque. As such we have numerous Basque steak houses, which offer family-style dinners with bread, soup, salad, no less than 3 "appetizer" dishes (if you can call spaghetti, tomato chicken and inkfish "appetizers") and a steak of a size no smaller than 20 ounces, all for about $15. Damn, I love the Basque.
