RAV4 for 30k? They saw you coming....

It's not hard to get a RAV for 30k if you get a Limited, V6, 4wd, navigation/sunroof. We have an '07 Sport V6 4WD and bought an extended warranty. Invoice price was a bit over $25k. I was stupid and paid like $800 over invoice.

And to stay on track, I wash it myself every couple months. I really need to wax it too though. It's never been done. I try to vacuum it out every few weeks though. We will drive it for a long time and I want it to look just as good in 10 years as it does now.

Also how the fuck do you tip at the carwash? It's a series of mechanical components that wash your car, you guys are getting way too generous 😉

there's always the doods that towel dry the car at the end of the worsh

Maybe in the USA, here in Canada there are big blow dryers that do the job. I have never ever seen a person working in an actual car wash.
Blowers don't get all the water off.

Really I think automated washes are kind of crappy, if I'm going to bother washing my car I'll just use the manual coin-op washes. This way you can go around the car and make sure you get everything.

You also have to be careful with antennas and stuff with the auto washes, they can break those off.

True but these ones here do a descent job, especially in the summer time, in the winter the excess drops freeze instantly. These new washes Petro has are pretty powerful, water comes through my side windows when the jets run by it.

Here we go with another Tip Thread. I hate tipping cus it's not like they do any extra work for you and it's basically implied that you have to tip for certain people which is stupid whether they do a good job or not. They are just doing what they get paid for.

-C'mon, throw in a buck!
-Uh-uh, I don't tip.
-You don't tip?
-Nah, I don't believe in it.
-You don't believe in tipping?
-You know what these chicks make? They make shit.
-Don't give me that. She don't make enough money that she can quit.
-I don't even know a fucking Jew who'd have the balls to say that. Let me get this straight: you don't ever tip?
-I don't tip because society says I have to. All right, if someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I'll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job.
-Hey, our girl was nice.
-She was okay. She wasn't anything special.
-What's special? Take you in the back and suck your d!ck?
-I'd go over twelve percent for that.

Did you know that the minimum wage for traditionally tipped jobs is lower than the minimum wage for other jobs?

Just wondering.

It's kind of shitty IMO not to tip waitresses, because they make like $1-2/hr and rely on tips to earn a decent wage. Everything else, though, I usually don't tip (unless they go above and beyond, like I mentioned earlier).

Here in Cali, they make minimum wage.

Not where you live, if your profile is accurate. It is a violation of state law to pay tip employees under the state minimum wage.

I'm trying to hasten the robot apocalypse, so I don't tip it anything.

Or, I tip myself a beer. 🙂

Well in that case I wouldn't feel guilty at all. Sorry, I didn't know about that. 🙂

Sometimes this is true, sometimes it is FUD.

While some states allow restaurants to pay below minimum wage and make up the rest in tips, many do not. Washington mandates a healthy $8/hr minimum wage, PLUS whatever you make in tips.

Even in states that pay $2/hr+tips, the tips MUST add up to minimum wage at least.

Still, how messed up is that?

Let's say I go out to eat with my friends and we're the only customers that a waitress gets in two hours.

We order $50 worth of food, tip 20%...she makes $16+$10/2 = $13.00/hr.

Now go to a state that pays $2.13+tips..the same table nets her $4.26+$10/2 = $7.13/hr

And of course people aren't going to always tip 30% in the low-paying states, and your friends will still call you a cheapskate if you tip 5% in the high-paying states, even though it ends up being about the same hourly wage.

They usually tip themselves by taking the hand held windshiled wipers. After 2-3 times my dad learned to leave it at home before getting a car wash.

Yeah, I was referring to Federal Law, sort of nationally.

A buck or two.

This year, I run my old truck through the $5 car wash, and the wife washes her new truck herself.

I usually tip $2 but I am here to tell you why some don't deserve a tip.

When I was in college I wash my car at a place, I was being nice and cheap student so I put a dollar in their tip box, one of the asshole saw what I did, raised his index finger, did a number one gesture, and chuckled next to his friend.

I almost called the INS on them.
