How much do you think my managers make at Best Buy?

i know that the manager position at safeway in washington DC makes about 65k. they put it on the door.

At my store there are four departments managers and then a store manager. You really think think the store manager makes well in excess of $50k? Hmm, better than I thought.

Not that bad of a job then, eh? Guess they just want you to have a degree in business?

A LOT. I bet a store manager makes $100k.

yeah, what about the department managers. I would guess ~40k probably.. on a good day.

Being a large retail store manager is a difficult job me thinks, I would say range from 60-100k.

It really depends on what the structure is like....at a supermarket, it is like this....

Workers (min. wage)
Full Time (about $3/hr more than part time)
Store Asst. Manager (35k - 40k)
Various types of Managers (40k -60k)
Upper Management (50k - 70k)
Asst. Store Director (70k -90k)
Store Director (150k+)
Everyone above store director (your wildest dreams)

Doesn't that kind of job seem a lot better then than working a stressful corporate environment type job with lots of overtime and heavy workloads?

Back when I used to work there, the 3 store managers (merch,op, and one other one) made roughly 65k plus the monthly bonuses (psp numbers & all that crap) and stock options. The store manager made 125k plus options and bonuses. This was a bigger store and also back in '99 before Geek Squad

Oh yeah and out of all four of them, only the store manager had a college degree 😕

When I worked in a market, they were trying to push me to stay full time and they claimed I would be promoted with in a year to Asst. Store manager. Looked good at teh time, but when you think about it, on some days, you have to work open till close some days and you cannot slack off as much because all your work is physical. The job is very tiring.

depends on the store size too

like where i work, we only have 1 store manager and about 4 assistant managers

When I worked at a best buy in the bay area, my supervisor told me that the asst. store gm made $125k a year (he was about to become a gm), and most other store gm's make $150k. Our store's GM, however, made $175k a year because he trained other gm's. All the other managers made around $80k a year.

That's Bay Area, though. Let's talk western PA, very little Best Buy.
