How much do you think it would cost to purchase a 98/99ish Sierra pickup fuel pump?

The real fun starts when it comes to replacing it. You need to drop the tank to do it. I hope it's not very full.

The last fuel pump I put in a Chevy P/U was a little over $325.00, 1997 model year. And replacing the pump wasn't all that fun either.

The fuelpump comes as a module assembly on that truck. Between $300 & $400. I have found on these that the best bet it to use a AC Delco assembly because it is a big job and I have had to many aftermarket failures on these. It is also worth buying a fuel line disconnect tool for gm fuel modules (around $10 and is 2 piece on that vehicle). I have changed alot. If the truck bed is empty and you have a few friend available this is how I change them. Remove the tailgate, remove the 3 screws (7mm) holding the fillpipe to the bed, unplug the wiring connector behind the bumper and remove the 8 bed mounting bolts (18mm). You can now lift the bed with 4 people. You don't have to drain the tank or fight with GMs fuel connectors when you can't see them. Then just do the reverse. The whole job takes me about 30min on a lift or an hour on the ground. Good luck with it

$178 for me, where the hell are you guys buying your parts, Beverly Hills ?

On a 98 it is a module assimbly, not just a pump like older models. My cost is around $225 but I work at a shop and pay jobber pricing.
