How much do you think an XBox will go on Ebay?

beer

Lifer
I'm wondering because I have an opportunity to get two XBoxes this Thursday. I'm not really expecting people to pay for it what they did for a PS2, but, I'm wondering if I could make a nice sum of money on the transaction?

lol it was pretty silly seeing what people paid for PS2s... but i agree that they wont go for as much. Maybe 500-800 if there is a shortage.

Nice, constructive, helpful comment, DanJ, you fvcking prick.

There's nothing wrong with making $200-300 for a minor amount of work.

a little harsh today are we??

oh yeah.. about the post.. i think 5-600 is about right if you're lucky... but how would i know..

<< a little harsh today are we?? >>

lol yes we obviously are.

I'm saying find something better to do then take advantage of some soccer mom that needs to get her nagging kid an x-box by christmas.

You're obviously in it to rip people off so don't play mommy's little angel and yell at me.

<< danj... jobs aren't that easy to get these days... trust me. >>

LoL...I know i know...no one would hire seasonal work this summer lol..."well you're a college student so we can't hire you because you'll leave by fall"

Was great...

<< Get a job..... >>

It's funny to think that posts like this is why there is a need for subscriptions on AT forums now...

Way to suck up the bandwidth...we're all proud of you.

Actually I was going to respond to that earlier, but decided it wasn't worth my time. Your arguments on why he shouldn't sell an item on ebay so far have sucked, so I figured I'd just point that out now...

Whereas your argument, about my arguments sucking, has been very strong.

Way to go!

Alright.

<< Get a job..... >>

This statement is a waste of bandwidth and flamebait, good use of AT resources.

There's a difference between want and need. No one needs an xbox. When someone pays X many dollars above retail for a luxury product, that's their choice, no one is making it for them. Maybe these "soccer moms" buying things on ebay marked up 50%+ will finally smarten up and bish slap their whining kids. Elemental is doing you a service.

I'm just a student taking 5 AP classes with no time to take a formal job. Making $200-$300 for an hours' worth of work can be enough to live on for almost six weeks. I don't care why people pay the money they do - perhaps it's out of convenience (rural people may not have access to Xboxes like someone in suburbia like me does) or out of ignorance (figured that they couldn't get one anyways, so why try?). This is the most capitalist country in the world, and I fully intend on being a capitalist- I'm just wondering how much I could expect to get for something like this.

last year, some lady bought the ticket for the ps2 for $300 @ my bestbuy, and she had to pay an addition $350 for the ps2 + games. will there be a shortage of x-box comes this thursday??

the ps2 had a known shortage, 86 million ps1 consoles, and a year of hype before it came out. the xbox has no predecessor, should be in sufficient quantaties, and only has recently started hyping. i dont see it being a glut of more than a week if there is a shortage. if you can return it with no fee? buy it, if you'll take a 15% restock, dont.

I think inflation will still take place. If someone wants something, i'm sure they'll pay for it, at whatever cost it may be. I'm guessing 400-500 ish maybe.

i don't expect you can make much out of xbox, maybe 100.
heck, i don't even plan on buying a xbox in the next...never.
i'm a true ps2 fan.

Not much I would think.. since MS is hopefully not going to F'up the launch like Sony did.. They should have a steady stream of 100K a week after the launch.

Hardly the sellers fault that the said soccer mom didn't say no to her kid.

At anyrate, we live in a free market society. They only sell for that much because someone is willing to pay for it.

I wouldn't bother if you have the chance. I'll bet you'll see a huge amount of fake bidding going on. Not to mention a few real bidders but who intend to pay fraudulently with a credit card (if you don't accept CC, you wont get much as much $$ typically).

Might not get very much for it. Im thinking the Gamecube is gonna be in more demand then xbox. Plus with 2 systems being released within a week of each other there might not be a xbox or gamecube shortage, unlike the PS2 which was the only new kid on the block when it came out.
