Do I think BB has techs that can fix most PC problems without doing a total reload? No.
as i part timer @ bb i would almost agree with you
but in our defense, you would not believe how f-ed up some peoples computers are, its more time efficent to just reinstall os

oh...and probably a bit over 2k

Not a hell of alot lately. I don't find the need to change anything on my computer, so it stays that way until I have a reasonable need to upgrade.

Net connection is one expensive operation cost.

Net connection: $50 a month, unlimited use
electricity: 0.15kW x 8 hrs a day on time x 30 =$3 or so

My most current upgrade was building an AMD system. It was the most stupid upgrade I ever did. That machine has been out of service after a virus attack and I'm on my 600MHz PIII machine and I'm not inconvenienced at all. This PIII machine is fast enough for MS Office, net and CD recording.

But a system every year for about $1600.

Add about $200 to that in games every year I guess (I get more games than 4 a year, but most are gifts :)).

About $1000 a year.

My net connection is $120 a month.
I just bought another 21" sony trinitron monitor to replace my older 21" sony.
Got an 18" LCD. >$1000
Upgraded my CPU 4 times for my main system, and twice for my brother. This year. Must have upgraded about 7 or so times last year only. Each CPU costed around $150-200 which is roughly $$1000-1100.
Logitech speakers $170.
Bought 4 sticks of 256 DDR, then upgraded all to 512mb DDR. All Crucial brand only @ $170-180 each! >$700
Bought a 120 GB WD 8mb cache HD $140 hot deal (need to install) and 4 80gb Maxtors. And a 40gb 60GXP.
Upgraded old Plextor 12x10x32 to a 24x10x40. I'll never buy another sony burner again! :(
Got a water block... need to install it first! $40
Getting a Gainward GF4 Ti4400 this week $270 from newegg! Anybody wants a brand new unopened Gainward Ti4200? ;)

So all in all? I prolly spent about $5000-$6000 already this year. :Q

nvidia better not come out with a new video card this year!
IBM/Maxtor/WD better not come out with larger hard drives this year!
AMD better not come out with new chips this year!
VIA better not make a new chipset this year!
LCD's better not drop in price this year!

Nokia better not come out with new phones this year!
HDTV's better not drop in price this year!

Credit card companies better not send me more offers this year! :p

So far this year, for the 5 months so far, I have spent about $5000-7000. I haven't added complete totals but I would lean more towards the 7g mark. Damn, I need to get away from this stuff

$500-600 a year. Usually one major upgrade (mobo, proc) upgrades for failing parts (monitor, floppy drive, cd burner) and software, net service free :) (not really since it was paid for through my college tuition, but then again I'm not in school anymore) Was a bit higher this year haven't done my major upgrade since last summer, but lot's of stuff failed this year.

but if you ask the wife, the short answer is "TOO MUCH!!"
