I spend about $150 to $200 a month on groceries, but only for me and doesn't count eating out/fastfoods.

I spend about $200 a month or so on food and that doesn't count a $5.68 lunch every day. I eat a lot though. I don't eat crap like ramen or even pasta, unless I'm dumping a pound of sausage in it.

I typically spent about 40-50 a week for myself. So that would be about 160-200 per month and sometimes I amy have spent more than that. I also rarely ate out and if I did it was not fast food.

About $140/week for 2 ppl. Lots of chicken breasts, fish, turkey, veggies. I'll go through $25 worth of chicken breast alone in a week.

Wow what do you eat? Gold?

Figure in coffee\breakfast for $8 or so, and $10-25 for lunch, and $20-50 for dinner. Times, let's say just 20 days out of a month. That's over $1000 right there.

Usually a cup of coffee and a scone\muffin @ Starbucks in the morning runs $8.
A lunch at Benihanas or most of the other north Dallas restaurants is going to come out to $20.
Dinner at a restaurant that isn't Chiles, Applebees, Black Eyed Pea, Bennigans, or other mass marketed crap is going to run $30 a person.

I think some of you are UNDER estimating.

That's insane.

What do you people eat rice and beans?

I can't get out of a grocery store without spending $200 once a week for a family of four.

If you want to save money, buy in bulk at costco and just keep that stuff around.

My girlfriend and I spend roughly $100 every 2 weeks. This is for all groceries, bathroom supplies, and laundry supplies.

You gotta consider that a large portion of people here are either single, and/or in college. "Cooking" consists of

1) peel off cover
2) nuke
3) eat

Eating like that can be done for under $200 a month.
