Not me... though I would prefer to have the physical media, so I wouldn't pay to download a game unless it's cheaper than the boxed version.

Same with movies; you might get me to pay to download a movie if it's chepaer than the physical disc and it's DRM-free so it's not tied to a particular device. I wouldn't buy a movie that's tied to a particular device. I have no such restrictions for movie rentals.

What does concern me is what's going to happen to all of my XBLA and PSN games when next generation hardware comes out. If I can't move those games to the next gen systems, I won't be too happy.

I buy about 4 to 5 games a year.

I don't have time to play a lot with a kid and job and wife and blah blah blah so I will just buy one game, play it through to the end with 30 mins here and there until I'm done then buy the next game and do the same.

I prefer FPS games so the replay is usually on the lower side IMO, as a result I trade them in once I build up enough and want something new.

Just last week I sent in all my old DS and PS3 games since Amazon was doing that $30 bonus for ever $60 worth sent in.

I got enough to only cost me $45 out of pocket for a Xbox 360 Arcade, which should be here any day now.

I only buy 2 or 3 games MAX per year, so very little. I seriously only own a console for: Madden, COD, and Forza. If 2 of those 3 were to bite the dust, I'd find something else to do whenever I had 30 - 60 minutes that needed chewing up.

You probably won't be too happy then. The next generation of consoles probably won't have a disc drive unless it's for movies only.

Ok, back on topic. I'm in the $600 or more category and whether or not I resell a game really depends on the game. For instance, my old-school compilation discs (e.g. Genesis Collection, Mega Man X collection, etc.) will never be sold. I typically keep my Final Fantasy games around too. Many games I just buy to play them through or try out something different, they are fun but don't have much replay value and are not epic by any stretch (e.g. Assasin's Creed, DMC4, etc.); these are the games that get traded away or resold.

It all comes down to replay value, how epic the game is, how hard it would be to find a replacement, and how likely it is that I'm going to get to replay the game later on.

I too did a lot more trading than normal over the last couple of months due to the Amazon.com $30 bonus deal. That coupled with my 10% ECA discount and the fact that I have Amazon Prime, resulted in a huge shuffling of PS3 titles and several additions to my XBox 360 collection.

I'm 80% certain you're wrong. Only about 50% of Americans have broadband Internet, and many of the people who don't have broadband can't get decent broadband. Also, an optical drive costs ~$20, and taking it out would piss off the biggest video game retailers.

If you want to be able to use game and movie discs with the next Xbox iteration, it will be an additional accessory that you will have to purchase along with software that will play the discs (also sold separately). $49.99 for the DVD drive add-on, $19.99 for the software (only $9.99 for Gold subscribers if purchased from XBL).

You think MS would sell an optical drive for $50? Way too cheap :(
