I was just on mint.com and checking out my purchases + savings last year... I ended up saving about 20% of my income.
How about you?
How about you?

I have no budget, so I don't know the percentage. I have what I can only call an "accumulation" which I might keep back for old age or might blow on scratch-offs tomorrow.

More than probably 90% of people my age, but about half as much as I'd like.
It's between 15% & 20%.
It's nice to throw around percents, but it really goes to show how they aren't everything.
A household making $8000 a month net and saving 20% is just as much as somebody making $3000 a month and saving 50%.

But chances are the household making 8K a month is living alot more lavishly than the 3K/month household, so that 20% isn't gonna get them as far as the 50% the 3K family is saving.

Think about that for a second.
That household making that much money can easily give up an expensive car payment or downsize to a smaller house and easily pick themselves up.
The family making less doesn't have as much wiggle room.
