1990s:
AOL

2000:
Timer Warner Cable

I grew up in the chat rooms of AOL. In them I learned the truths I now know as a man. I learned how to talk to people. How to influence them to do my bidding. I learned how to manipulate the weak, and strike down the strong. I learned the arts of war. I learned how to break a persons will. I learned to kill.

1996-2002: Dialup - first 28.8k Algonet then 56k Tele2

2002-2003: 10Mb - moved from my parents house in the country to a small town of about 1000 people. Student housing connected to the municipal MAN

2003-2004: Tele2 56k dialup again (moved back to parents). They got 10Mb fiber in 2005.

2004-2007: 10Mb at dorm where I lived while studying at uni

2008-2009: 2Mb cable (Comhem)

2010: Upgraded to 10Mb because it was only like $3 more a month. 50Mb was $10 more and 100/10Mb $20 more, but I'm not a heavy bandwidth user. Might upgrade to 100Mb next year when done studying, if I get a job. But it seems kind of overkill for watching low quality youtube videos and reading tech articles...

Not a good memory for this kind of thing. Let's see:

mid-late 1990s
Dial-up with a number of small companies. I think we tried Compuserve and or AOL too. Didn't actually experience much of the net at this point. I also leeched from a number of dial in local BBSs.

Early 2000s
Dial-up with one or two larger local companies. One of them was called OpenLink or something.

2002 or so
Cable with Rogers

2003 or so - present
Cable with Shaw cable after they took over from Rogers.

80's: X.25/Tymnet networks.
90's: shadow.net, ufl.edu
00's: bellsouth.net, comcast.net

had a few other access accounts on other ISP's, but only used them as backups.
