How much do you pay in rent?

$2200 for 2 bedroom. $525 in college shared a room in a 2 bedroom, $600 my senior year had my own room in a 2 bedroom.
During college, I paid somewhere between 600 - 1000. As years passed and apartments got bought up, rent went up drastically. One of the apartments that my roommate and I were renting for $1700 now goes out to $2900 :Q Gotta love California and the great state of the housing market, especially its effects near schools.
Now I pay 665...but this is just a room.

Summer utilities:
Maybe $70-$80/month for electricity
~$20 for gas
Water: $25/quarter
Winter:
$50/month for electricity
$100-$200 for gas.
It's a 2-bedroom apartment, aaaaaalll mine.
When I was on-campus, it was about $575/month, for a 2BR apartment with 4 people in it, so the college was pulling in $2300 per month for a 2BR apartment that had considerably less space than I have here. I've got at least 614 square feet, plus storage space on the second floor - it's effectively a finished attic, and so there's some space in a sort of crawlspace behind two of the walls, right under the roof.

580...I live in a tool shed that got converted into a room. I have my own bathroom and kitchen. I must admit the owner did a pretty good job of fixing this place up.

I didn't say it did. But paying 2200/month for a 1000sqft is nowhere near being classified as reasonable.
indeed.
I was only paying a bit less than that when I lived on the other side of the river, in Jersey City.
