Does not include any utilities. Add about $110/month for these, not including telecom.

$1650 - 3bdrm 2 bth 1150 sq ft apartment in San Jose - West-side. Hot Water is included but electricity, phone, cable is not.

Older complex with few amenities other than great landscaping and big patios.
 
Last time I paid rent was $1079 for 2bd/2ba in Lake Ridge (Woodbridge) VA about 5 years ago. I bought a TH down the road a few miles in Montclair and the other rents in the area for a 3bd/3ba TH with garage go for about $1600+.
 
$1600 for mortgage + HOA fees + insurance. Split 2 ways.

My last place was $3000/mo, 1450 sq flat; San Francisco, CA (Sunset)
 
my first apt was $3175 divided based on room size- my part was $1115 + utilities split three ways for a 3br / 2ba

next was 2500 divided by 3 evenly for a 3br/2ba townhouse and utilities divided by 4 people (creepy guy living in basement)

looking at studios / 1 brs that will run 1200-1500 + utilities

all in jersey city, nj
 
$1,400 a month for mortgage and property tax, and another $250 a month for condo fees for a 1250 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse with a garage.

its only $650 for my house and i'm not even renting. screw paying thousands a month for a non investment.
