$600/month heat+electric included for a 2-bedroom a couple miles outside of NYC (20-30 minute train ride into Manhattan)

this apartment would probably go for $1,200-1,500 but I'm living in a 2-family house that my aunt owns... because of her dementia, we don't really want strangers living in here and the apartment would probably be sitting empty if it wasn't for me living here.

$730/mo including heating and hot water. 2-bedroom, 800sq feet apartment in Uppsala (65km/40 miles north of Stockholm, Sweden).

Just sold our house, moved way out in the sticks.
3 BR, 2 Ba., 1400 Sq. Ft.: $450.00 Mo.

No garage, though and too many neighbors. Good thing it's temporary!

East Cambridge. It's about 4 blocks from the Kendall Stop and 2 from the Lechmere stop. I love it here because it's so close to Boston and parking is NEVER an issue. If I only I could get rid of the pot head down stairs.....

The place is cheap b/c my landlord does not give an F. The dishwasher broke, he just told me to deal with it.

You should look up the local tenant/landlord regulations and see if you can get it fixed on your own and then deduct the amount from the rent (of course, you'll probably need certified letters to prove you contacted the landlord first). That would probably light a fire under his ass for fixing stuff.

$1065 / Broward County FL (west of Fort Lauderdale). It's on the edge of the nice part of town. 2/2 1st floor, just shy of 1k sq ft.

washer/dryer/dishwasher/disposal

Parking is great and communal (no assigned spots), beautiful property, jacuzzi, pool, billiards, gated entry (its a joke of course and constantly broken). Can't work on your car though, and no garages in sight so I gotta go to the in-laws house to work on em in the street.

how much are taxes and association fees in edgewater?

$535/month in fees and my taxes are about $8k/year. Location is awesome though... numerous restaurants/shops within 10 minute walk and a 16 screen theater within 5 minutes.

edit: that $535 includes a $30 fee for renting a storage locker for a bunch of extra crapola...

2BR apartment, though the way the building's assembled, it's more like renting my own house.

Erie, PA

$450/month + gas, electric, Internet.

$875/month for a 3 bedroom condo in Lubbock, TX. I also have a $650/month mortgage payment for a house I own in Kansas that has yet to sell.

$1250 in Rochester Hills, MI. 3br 3ba, 2car garage and a full basement. Includes association fee which covers snow removal / lawn / etc.

Its slightly expensive but a really nice area. My first rental was $220/mo in Detroit, then $460 in Lenexa, KS, then $665 in Clinton Township, MI and now I have doubled that rent. I also got married and my wife is an engineer so we're not exactly hurting. I hate writing that check though.

ouch. for those prices, you better have a 24/7 doorman and city views.

$0 I own. It isn't much but it's mine free and clear.

same. Although paying yearly property taxes to the county and the city along with annual homeowner's insurance feels like rent to me.

I'm shopping for a vacation condo on the Florida Gulf coast so I might have a small mortgage again.

Sis lives in Mexico Beach. Might want to look there. The real estate was way cheap a couple of months ago.
