How much do you pay for basic utilities?

I've been thinking of buying a small house and am trying to figure out how much I can expect to pay for basic utilities.. What are you guys spending for:

1. electricity and gas
2. sewer service
3. water service
4. garbage (just added)

Strange isn't it, you have to pay to live somewhere, but killing yourself is illegal... Guess we are already living in some kind of Matrix.

It's only illegal if you try and fail. Succeeding is perfectly legal.

Well why not. I mean, you probably had to pay for the crack you smoked before making that comment 😀
Hehe just kidding. So what are people paying??

Probably about $300/mo for all.
Yea, sounds about right.

50 - 100$/mo for electricity.. depends on if you have electric heat, need an A/C, etc..
I'm not sure how much gas is.. never had a place with gas. 50 - 75$?
water/sewer/garbage - less than ~100$.

You forgot to add phone, cable/satellite and internet broadband service.

I'd say $300/mo is a good estimate.

Depends on so many different variables though.

On average, something like the following:

Electricity/Gas: $40 and $80-120 respectively depending on the season. (ie-in winter gas is the higher figure)
Sewer: Like $30 every few months I think. It's a pretty small bill.
Water: $20/month
Garbage: not much (can't remember an exact figure)

Other things:

Property tax: I pay about $1000 per year for unincorporated Dekalb county (just outside Atlanta). Intown locations can be a LOT more.
Homeowner's insurance

I pay between 110 and 240 for electricity.. probably average 185 or so. around 44/mo for water and sewer combined. 31/quarter for trash/recycling. around 30/mo for phone, 6/mo for long distance, 62/month for cell x 2, 99/mo for cable (tv and internet), around 900/year in property taxes, 600/year in insurance and probably average around 500-600/year in general home maintenance stuffs.. less some years, lots more others.

I pay 82/month for gas and elec...the rest is included in my subdivision fee which is approximately 100/month.

Ausm

1. Depends on season, where you live, and the house itself. Figure about $100-$200/mo.
2-3. Where I live, water and sewer come on the same bill, roughly $120 every quarter (3 months).
4. roughly $20/mo.

Don't forget phone at ~$30/mo. (without frills or long distance) and cable (TV and internet combined for me are $90/mo.)

Im in an apt in the desert.

Electricity $50-100
Gas $10-30
Water Dont pay
Cable $40 for High Speed, basic cable is free
Garbase Dont pay

municipalies can vary greatly. houses also greatly very in terms of how efficient they are. Your best bet is checking with your local utilities. They should be able to tell you the average bill for any specific property.

That's an untrue rumor...

My utilities:

Electricity- ~$35
Gas- ~$30
Water- ~$30
Phone- ~$40

Water - $0 have a well
Gas/Oil - $50-100 in winter only
Sewer - $0 have septic
Garbage - $5 week
Electricity - $50 spring-fall 80 winter

Nothing. After undercharging me for a year, PGE has stopped billing me entirely. Talk about a fvcked up business. I keep calling them every month asking them to send me a bill, and they say they will, but never do.

~$120 for Electricity
~$38 for Water, Sewage, Trash
~$49 phone (Unlimited Local and Long Distance)

Not sure if these are considered basic utilities but:

~$45 Cable (internet)
~$30 DirecTV
~$50 Cingular
