I'm just wondering - apparently it has a lot to do with where you live. I live in Carrollton, TX, a small suberb outside of Dallas. My parents pay around $1400 a year for LIABILITY only. (I'm 19 years old) And this is on a 1988 Honda Accord LXi 4 cylinder. Never been in an accident, never had a ticket. A guy at work who is only 17, drives a brand new 2001 Civic pays around $1100 a year for full coverage, (although under his mom's name) and he lives probably 15-25 miles from me. Two of my cousins in Memphis, Tennessee pay around $750 a year for liability and they're both only 18. (One female, one male) Then another one of my cousins in Oxnard, CA (male) who is 18 pays $800 a year for full coverage on the exact same car as me. This pisses me off because this is the only thing stopping me from getting a new car. If I lived like 25 miles elsewhere I might get a cheaper rate, but nooo, insurance companies have to be tight wads about it. The only way I'm getting a new car is if: a) I turn 21 (another year and a half) or b) I get married (which isn't happening anytime soon) Sooner or later I'll move out and hopefully to somewhere with cheaper insurance but I just wanted to know what everyone else is paying. (Include age, location, married or not, full or liability) Thanks!
