I agree in that the lack of AA in some titles is unnoticeable, while in others it's horrible. In Far Cry, the jaggies are just brutal, so I must have it on. In older games aliasing gets fairly bad too. However, even just 2xAA wipes out most of the jaggies fairly well. I only max AA if I can afford the performance hit. AF I usually try have 4x of at least, as it really does look much nicer.

I usually can't handle playing a game w/o AA anymore. The jaggies bother me too much. Af I don't play around with too much so I usually set it relatively low. I play at 1280x960 though so people playing at 1600x1200 probably have less need of it. Does anyone know of a good IQ and performance comparison for all these settings for current cards (I have a 6800) ?

Playing without AA really sucks IMO. The two things that completely kill the sense of immersion for me are jagged edges and tearing, so it's AA and v-sync for me.

I put them to max. I just think I hate having good framerates.... I love seeing a beautiful image, even if its at 30 FPS or lower.
