How much do you keep in your checking account compared to a savings account?

i think i have about $7 in checking....and thats it for now.

oh, and i have $20 in my pocket.

www.presidential.com offers 3.25 or 3.5 on their checking and 3.75 on their savings.

I think $1000-2000 is a safe amount to have in my checking account, the rest is in ING savings. 3.30% woot!

I don't feel like keeping track of checks in my checkbook so I just keep enough in the checking account.
