I hate it soo much. Especially when friends ask me to fix their computer because it's slow at surfing the internet and I scan it and Spybot reports over 300 different adware on the machine.

i love it (1), because if there wasn't spyware, ppl wouldn't be paying be $30-$40 to get rid of it ;)

Spyware is responsible for more computer malfunctions and tech support calls than any other reason. It causes problems even a veteran computer geek cant diagnose or reason out. Simply put, its destroying the experience of the internet for many. Every day someone writes a new piece of it that spyware-killer software cant catch - like anti-virus programs, they only search for distinct piece of code which can easily be masked. I run 2 spyware killers on a regular basis, and a few months after a reformat I'll check my outgoing log files and still probably find something.

Dammit... I just realized that after I clicked it. That limit is undefined.

It's not really undefined. 1/0 is undefined and has no answer. That limit approaches infinity ;)

Not really. The limit will have different solutions depending on which direction it approaches zero (from the negative side or the positive side). Since you didn't specify which direction, that limit of approaching zero is undefined.

I don't use any anti-spyware or anti-virus program, i haven't had either in any of my systems so far.

Running Slackware/Arch/OpenBSD/Solaris machines all around might be the reason for that though.

I'd like to see the makers of spyware stripped nekkid, dipped in honey and dropped on a mound of fire ants.

Isn't the limit as x approaches 0 of 1/x non-existant?

Because from the negative side, it approaches negative infinity. And from the positive side, it approaches infinity.

A limit exists if it exists from both sides. Since it exists on the postive side of zero and negative it also exists.

The limit must exist from both sides AND both must approach the same limit for the limit to exist. Otherwise, the limit does not exist.

The lim from the left exists. The lim from the right exists. But the limit at 0 does not.

2. I hate it on an ideological basis, but I have zero problems with it, and in fact it gives me a sense of satisfaction to completely avoid it when it seems that everyone else is getting slammed by it :)

It also makes me look like an expert to non-techy people, like my parents.
