How much do YOU hate spyware? ;)

I'm going to pick the last option.... I think it's probably one of the worst/annoying things that can happen to your machine, for a lot of people it's destroying the internet for them.

Going to say 3; I don't like it whatsoever, but it's easy to avoid and moderately easy to clean (at least, for smaller infestations), so it doesn't personally affect me much at all, though I do on occasion have to clear some out & install FireFox for a friend or relative.

I'll pick that last option. It's not a bother for me personally, but since I'm in IT, I have to clean up user's computers that have gotten spyware on them at least once or twice a week. Such a waste of time too.

Basically my problem with it is having to help people remove it all the time. Yesterday I had to try and fix an EXTREMELY bad case of adware/hijack ware, like we are talking multiple thousands of files, the machine a 2.8C w/ 512 ram was crippled it had so much running, lol

Well, I don't have many problems with spyware just as I don't have many problems with virii and worms. The problem, as you said, is that there are people who are not very informed about things.

Still, I hate them (spyware/adware/etc). 😛

Edit: By the way, how did you manage to put "Rating" in the column to the left of the topic title? 😕

You clearly don't have a mother/brother/sister/friend/neighbor/girlfriend who owns a computer, and knows you know what you're doing then huh?

I don't have a problem with spyware on MY computer....

Same. Spyware covers roughly 25% of my tickets at work (and some weeks is even higher). It's ridiculous, but ultimately keeps me comfortably employed.

I'll say 3. It's annoying yes, but I've not had any problems with it personally, so until I do, I'm kind of sitting in the middle of the road.

and btw, i just went to a co workers house to look at his pc, infested with spyware, 85% of problems that i fix on computers are spyware related, so yes i cannot stand it=/

I love it and hate it. I hate the fact people will intentionally cripple someones computer with no regard for their property at all. On the other hand these asshats allow me to make extra money on the side cleaning up the results on clueless users computers!
