I would like to do that, but my employer isn't paying me enough for me to feel that way.

No!

Whoever answers "yes I would pay my employer", what do you do for a living?

I can't say I love my job, and think I'm fairly undervalued where I'm at. As for paying them to do my job ... I've had one job like that in my life, and I barely made enough to stay alive. :)

I wouldn't pay my employer, but believe me I wouldn't leave this place if I found another job paying me double.

Never give up and always ignore those who say you can't.

Everyone thinks they are undervalued. Just like everyone thinks their kids are beautiful.

If you loved to do the job then so do a lot of other people probably so they don't need to pay much to attract employees.

All makes sense....

My job is ok. I get paid decent straight out of college and I don't do a whole lot. I'm PC support and I have about 2 days out of the month that I'm actually working all day. Most other days I spend 6-7 hours on the internet waiting for someone to contact me about an issue. I plan on leaving within 2 yrs so I can get a breath of fresh air.

I wouldn't go that far but I do enjoy my job.

Ditto. I started doing IT contract work this year and love it. Flexible hours, fun projects, part-time so that I can still attend school. I'm really enjoying working for myself and being my own boss.

I like it. Most of my coworkers are cool, I find the stuff I do intresting, get to learn new things and its not pointless/meaningless.

I like my job, but I should DEFINATLY be getting paid for it. As much as I like it, I don't necessarily enjoy it, and should therefore be getting paid, more than I do now at that.

I love my jobs - both of them.
The 2nd job, I do pay my employer (sort of) - I'm my own employer, at the current time, I'm losing money on that job.

Two straight days with building issues here, and two straight days that I've been sent home as a result.

Yesterday morning, drove in and my access card wouldn't open the basement garage door. Back out, drive around towards the front of the building and co-workers are saying, "go home, no power in the building. but we're going for coffee wanna.." (car door slams) :p

Nice Monday morning... drove home and shot 18 in the afternoon :)

Fast forward to this morning... Get to work, basement garage door is open, lighting in the basement is minimal. Still power issues with the building. As a result, no one could park on the 2nd deck parking which led to the basement parking being 95% full and leaving me with a crappy parking spot (more about this later).

Go up into the office, people are saying we have no running water (AKA no toilet flushing, hand washing, etc.) The office is being powered by a generator, and we are having issues with our server, most likely due to the power outage / generator use I guess. Not my department :)

Last week a co-worker and friend of mine was stung by a bee. Since we have central air in the building that was working at the time, an email went out to all staff to keep the windows closed. Well, this morning as we were hanging around chatting waiting to be able to log back in to the work server (server restart), we noticed a bee buzzing around and I figured the crap was about to hit the fan in office land.

They suggested that if we needed to, we use off-site plumbing "because the office is in an urban area and there are nearby public restrooms". Well, I had to take a crap and I wasn't about to go over to the Ramada Inn to do it, not only because I think it's BS but because co-worker Norm had already been over there to stink it up already.

So anyway I left the office at about 20 to noon and left a message for my manager (he works 8 hours away in Ottawa). Fact of the matter is, power was going out again at 1pm and they didn't know when it would be back on. So it's not like I could have been very productive anyway.

To make a long story short, I enjoy my job right now but I'd actually like it a bit more this week if I could just go to my office and get some work done without either a) issues with the building or b) x number of interruptions per hour.

Cheers

edit: oh yeah about the crappy parking spot in the dimly-lit basement garage.

Co-worker (name withheld) parked behind me in a no parking zone and blocked me in. While trying to manouvre my wife's car around a cement-enclosed column, I nudged the rear passenger door and left a couple little scratches on her otherwise-perfect car.

Moral of story 2: never attempt 18-point turns in tightly-packed dimly lit basement garages (with your wife's car).
