Maybe it is in my head, but ever since i've started eating alot healthier and drinking more water these last few years i have started sweating a whole lot more.

this has bothered me to the point of getting blood tests for hyperthyroidism, which came out negative.

for example, i just did 30 minutes of fairly high intense cardio, and my shirt and shorts are completely soaked. when i say completely, i mean, i could ring out a ounce or 2 of water from my shirt alone. This doesn't really bother me, except in the bedroom. It becomes distracting when i'm completely soaked in sweat after 30 minutes.

best solution i've found is to do some highly intensive exercise much earlier in the day if bedroom action may happen later. but it isn't always possible to exercise early in the morning.

i was thinking about reducing my intake of water and see what happens. i probably drink a gallon or 2 of it a day, but i really like water and i'm afraid i'll become dehydrated if i reduce my intake.

any suggestions?

Increased sweat secretion is actually an exercise adaptation in response to aerobic activity. As my professor used to say, you get "cooler, wetter skin faster." It helps thermoregulate your body temp before it increases to the point where it would induce activity cessation. Essentially, your body is getting better at exercise. Don't worry about it. You should revel in it since you are clearly responding to the cardio you're doing.

I sweat bucketfuls regardless of my level of fitness. At least it's tapered off some since my youth. When I was a kid, playing a game of ping pong made me look like I had just run a marathon :p

I sweat a lot too. I swam and played water polo in high school and college, so I never really noticed it. Now, by the end of my warm up (jogging, dynamic stretching, body weight exercises) I'm sweaty. My gym towel is soaked by the end of the workout.

I went duck pin bowling (apparently only in Maryland - little pins, little ball) a few weeks ago. I was slinging the ball as hard as I could. Of course, I was the only person in the entire building that was sweating.

Buckets. I literally hemorrhage water if I feel even the slightest bit hot. Even after I lost 43lbs, it didn't change one bit.

I know I sweat more than most because people mention it. I get a lot of "damn, did you forget to take your shirt off in the shower"? and the like after I do 20 minutes or so of hard cardio.

If I use anything less than certain-dri antiperspirant I walk around with huge sweat stains under my armpits in a 70 degree F indoor environment.

I KNOW I'm in great shape right now, but that didn't seem to affect the profusion of my sweating compared to when I was nearly 70lbs heavier.

I don't sweat that much. Even while doing cardio.

But I'm also one of those people who has never used deodorant or an anti-perspirant, because I just never smell bad and I have never had pit-stains ever.

I was just thinking about this today. It was hot and humid out and I had long sleeves rolled up and jeans on. Just walking to my car I was dripping sweat. I hate it. I always wear an under shirt and I use Old Spice Sweat Defense. The only good thing for me is once I get inside I stop sweating but it takes a few minutes.

Does anyone know of an anti-persperant that works really well?

Big time. I can be in a room of people that are cold and I'm hot and sweating. I swear I was meant to live in a cold climate, cause I can barely handle summer!

I hear you about the bedroom action. My ex used to call me a "sweaty guy" all the time. I found it VERY distracting once I was soaked in sweat and dripping it everywhere....I would also like a solution to this.

I sweat a lot at 165 lbs, and I sweat a lot at 215. Makes no difference.

It's genetic...

I knew someone who would seat from their palms and the back of their hands just sitting there surfing the web. It was disgusting.

Are you white? If so, that might be part of it.

I sweat profusely. For example, last Saturday I went on a relatively short (for what I do) 16.5 miler with a group of runners and lost 6 pounds. That's a lot of sweating.

I'm down 30lbs from 3 years ago and I am much more comfortable at higher temps. Froze my ass off last winter. Heat on 73 instead of 65.

40 min of cadrio at 85% max heart rate and I'm soaked. Invariably lose .6lb every time which is somewhere around 1/2 pint.

It's weird for me, my sweat production doesn't ramp up until I stop. Maybe it's just drying a lot faster during cardio but it's always about 2-3mins after i'm done that sweat begin to pour out of my body. Or maybe I just don't notice it that much during the run? I dunno...

i sweat like a mofo at the gym, just from lifting weights. granted the AC is kinda jacked up in the gym as well. but im talkin like full shirt is just drenched, with a beater underneath as well.

but in general i sweat a lot. i will get hot just waiting for the train when going to work in the morning if it is humid outside

it just runs in my family though, my brother and dad were like this, and i actually had a conversation w/my uncle about this around xmas last year heh.

I would guess that white people are genetically not accustomed to warm climates.

Being white has nothing to do with it. Sweating is actually an adaptation for GOOD thermoregulation. The exact opposite of what you say would be true. Race does not play an important part in sweating ability. Just like everything else, there is variation among a population. It really depends on how sensitive you and your hypothalamus are to regulating temperature. That is embedded in genetics more complex than skin color.

That's true, the guy I knew who sweat out of the back of his hands was pretty dark.

But one could safely hypothesize that if you are genetically originated from a colder climate, your skin color thus reflects adaptation to that environment, as would other factors like sweating and body temperature regulation.
