The big ones they have at 7-Eleven are about $15k I think. (4 flavors)

The small machines that sit on a countertop and make iced coffee or iced fruit slushy type drinks are about $2500.

They have a small Icee machine at Wawa that's only two flavors, that one probably wouldn't cost more than $3000-5000. (it also sits on a countertop)

Actually, no. Having one in your kitchen would, indeed, rock, would it not?

Any machine like that is several thousand dollars at a minimum. I don't know any details, but they aren't cheap.

you're better off trying to create your own. Get some kinda ice crusher that grinds it really fine, and buy some syrup, mix and be happy :p

Those machines are easily $5k :p

You've obviously never had to clean one. Would you leave it running constantly, otherwise the start up and take down time are atrocious.

The reason for the cost of the machines is the durability needed for a commercial grade unit. That's why even things like soda fountains are quite expensive. The maintenance alone wouldn't be worth it.

Now, if someone made a home-slushie machine. That would be win.

No, dont ruin it for me! Is it something like the Slurm worm inside the machine? They feed it real cheese and poops out yellow nacho cheese?

Buy some syrup my ass. If I were going to build one (hell, or even use a commercial one privately), I'd be finding ways to make it work with any old liquid beverage. I have a few mechanisms in mind for doing such, but trial and error is the only way.

No, but on the newer machines the cheese is in a bag, and sometimes the bag leaks and it can get pretty nasty in there if they don't keep up with cleaning it.

The at home slurpee machine.

Me and my wife got this for a neice for her birthday. She takes it every where and it works pretty good for the price.

F that. Too impractical for large scale use.

Why would you NOT leave it running constantly? And as far as cleaning goes, what's that, once a week or whenever you change flavors? Can't be that bad.
