Don't need anything special and it does not need to be insulated. I would prefer that it was made of steel or something other than wood. Windows are not necessary, but would be nice to have. This is for a single car garage.

Our doors were something around ~$1400 total. That's for a wood style door with a core of some other insulating material.

overhead door co of kc just quoted me $590/door installed for a normal 13x7? garage door, 12.75 inches thick, steel insulated.

Removal of each one of my 2 garage doors would be $40.00 and disposal another $40.00 apiece so i'd just rip them down myself and haul them to the dump in my gas guzzling truck.

Steel insulated, 12.75" thick?
Nuclear fallout shelter?

Man that'd require some behemoth of a garage door opener. Maybe Dodge's 8.3L V10?

had a 17x8 Raynor door with their 1/2hp belt driven opener installed for around $900 after ~30% discount. The door is from their innovation series, model name Centura, 2" thick 3 layer steel construction with a 18.0 R value.

Ha!
I was just going to post this question! It's probably going to run me an easy $2k+ to replace everything and have new framing put in.

One of the springs in my garage actually broke at both ends, so I'm limited to only one door at the moment. It really fucked up the mounting and everything on that side when that spring went! I replaced both springs on the good door just to be safe.

Busted Spring
One of the crappiest installs I've ever seen!
Seperation from wall caused by termite dmg
The side where the spring busted. Glad my car was'nt in there when it happened!
